Frequently, our firm is given the task of re-envisioning a newly “white-box” constructed space into a home that exudes history and character. Such was the case with this Boston brownstone that our out-of-town client had purchased. Though the sprawling floorplan was perfect for our client’s large family, it lacked any spirit or details that spoke to the building’s historical origins. The client wanted a casual and collected quality to the rooms, in which all of the furnishing and artwork seemed at once entirely individual yet also complimentary. Mixing French oil paintings, American federal furniture and European cottage fabrics, we created a landscape that emanated the client’s personal tastes and a continental charm.
