Classic

Brookline

Built in the 1840s, this 6,000 square foot home had been renovated over seventeen times in the course of its history. Our goal was to sift through the multiple, and at times, competing layers of architecture to find a singular design identity for the space. Our clients requested elegant details, sophisticated and modern finishes, coupled with warm textures that were also “family friendly” for their young children. Though we wanted to highlight the home’s beautiful curved stairway, new chef’s kitchen, and gorgeous fireplace mantles, we also knew that the utilitarian zones were of equal importance for this young family. We made sure to add both functional and handsome detailing to spaces like the laundry room, mudroom and basement. The result was a cohesive space with an attention to detail in even the most “practical” of spaces.
